Seth Siegelaub: Tessuto Arte Teoria

Seth Siegelaub was a character who is hard to pin down – he was by turns a gallerist, editor and independent art curator, researcher, bibliographer and textile collector. Following Fondazione Antonio Ratti’s acquisition of Siegelaub’s book and textile collection, this retrospective exhibition series explores the complexity of his research work at the Fondazione in Como and Triennale Milano, forming the start of a long-term programme of events and exhibitions.

The graphic identity takes reference from Siegelaub’s way of archiving materials, forming an ever growing collection of ephemera of different sizes and formats. Each printed on an uncoated paper and held together as a collection with a butterfly clip.

Content is bordered with crop marks to separate the exhibition information from the text and imagery. Text is set out in a ‘default’ styling, using medium-weight sans serif typography paired with a monospace variant to create a clear hierarchy.
